Design Process
Review
- We begin with reviewing the information provided by the client via email or telephone to determine what service is required. If sufficient information has been provided, we would then provide a fee quotation for our services.
Visit
- If it is determined that a site visit will be necessary to facilitate our services, we would book an appointment with the client at a convenient date and time for them. During our site visit we would discuss the client’s needs further.
- To provide the best possible structural solution we would need to understand the makeup of the building and how the structure works and establish any site constraints.
- The project is assessed in our team and if an architecture firm is involved, the project would be discussed between us. Communication is at the heart of our service and something that allows us to understand and implement the best services for our clients.
- The next step is the design or report writing process. During this time, we use the gathered information and asses the most optimum design solution.
- Through a thorough investigation, we determine what elements can be retained, and we make dedicated efforts to retain existing structural elements.
- We design the necessary structural components in optimum configuration, to create cost-effective, sustainable, and innovative design solutions.
Approval
- Once the design work has been completed, our package would be submitted to Building Regulations by the client. Once they have reviewed the design a ‘plan approval’ sign off would be given and construction can begin.

Typically, we are able to schedule in visits 3-5 working days from confirmation of appointment. We would recommend getting in touch with our team to confirm current lead times, as these may be subject to change with availability.
We recognise the importance of prompt turnaround times for your project. Due to the varied nature of projects that we complete, some projects may require more time than others. Our team will be able to advise on project turnaround times once we gain a clear understanding of the project brief.
